FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Below is a list of our frequently asked questions. We will try to continuously update this list with the most common questions/answers for your convenience.

Q: What are the dimensions of _____?

A: Under the main picture of each description we list key information about each machine, including the dimensions. If you do not see the dimensions listed there, feel free to contact us using the "Ask seller a question" link. In some cases, the dimensions of a machine were not recorded at the time that the listing was started.

Q: Can _____ be set to Free Play?

A: Almost all machines that we sell, with the exception of crane and other redemption games, can be set to Free Play (i.e. play without inserting money).

Q: How many plays does _____ have on it?

A: Many machines will have a counter (via software or hardware mechanism) that will suggest how many times it has been played or had coins inserted. However, our experiences have shown that both software and hardware counters are NOT a reliable source for this information. Counters of any type can easily be reset, become stuck, or damaged and result in incorrect values. The best way to determine how many times a game has been played is by the condition of its controls!

Q: Will this machine be reliable/last in my home?

A: Every machine that we sell is a form of commercial arcade equipment, key word being commercial. The typical environments that arcade pieces go into are much worse than your home. That's assuming that you won't hit, key, burn, pour liquid on, or shake your machine like it just stole your last quarter...a common occurance at commercial locations. Also, because your machine has been cleaned and/or repaired and evaluated before reaching you, you can expect it to last for years upon years with little maintenance and no problems.

Q: What kind of maintenance is required for this machine?

A: The answer to this question varies by machine, so feel free to ask us about the specific machine you are interested in via the "Ask seller a question" link. Generally speaking, though, any machine we sell requires very little maintenance, if any. The most important type of "maintenance" is noticing and reporting any problems with the machine as soon as possible. For example, if a power supply fan is making a lot of noise, that is usually an indication that the sleeves/bearings are failing or there is a foreign object (hair, giant dustball, cables, etc.) stuck inside. If the fan were to fail completely before being cleaned out or replaced, the power supply could quickly overheat and take other components out with it.

Q: How does your 3-month warranty work? What if a part fails or the machine stops working?

A: Our most common question...and a great one! We are working on a dedicated warranty page, but until it is finished, here is the short answer:

Every machine that we sell comes with a 3-month warranty, unless otherwise specified. The warranty covers every part of the machine. When the machine is not functioning, we diagnose it for you, and send a replacement part (if necessary). The buyer must act as our eyes and ears throughout the diagnosing process. The buyer must also install any new parts using the provided instructions (phone support is also available). Major components, such as motherboards and monitor chassis boards, will often require the part to beremoved and sent back to us for repair; other times we may send an advance part and require that the original is sent back to us.

NOTE that any physical damage incurred through shipping, by an act of God (flood, fire, tornado, lightning) or the buyer (dropping, tipping, spilling, improper circuitry, carelessness in adjustments) is NOT covered by this warranty and effectively voids said warranty immediately. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this statement, please contact us and ask questions before an incident occurs. Mistakes do happen, and we all make them...but we can not and will not be responsible for YOUR mistakes.
